People want to find people

“what do people want most to find on your intranet? Other people. That is the number one application on the intranets I’ve worked on and on the intranets I’ve talked to other intranet managers about. People want to find people. Sometimes people want to find specific people, because you want to phone or email a particular person, or maybe visit their office. Sometimes you want to find someone who knows something, but you don’t know who that is, but maybe you know someone who knows someone, or maybe you can find a blog where they’ve laid out everything you need to know. Having a “wisdom network,” where you can identify and share individual expertise, can also be a vital tool on intranets.”

Ecco il post originale.
